An eventful day
Last Friday I emailed Rod with a pdf copy of my book. His respond was along the lines of "errrm, we need to talk about this - don't print it". After a crit today at Graphics it was confirmed to me that the design was not communicating as well as I want it to and the decision was made to re-design it almost completely.
Having said that, as this week is dedicated to transforming my A1 worksheets into A3 worksheets, I invested my time in doing so as oppose to start working on the book again (nice excuse to procrastinate).
Here are some of the results of this process:
Has been transformed into:
And a little work on these is still to be done.

Valentine cake promotion
Had a chat with Elinor (the girl who makes these cards). I told her about my idea of having F**k you cards instead. She said she'll make me one like that... Wondering if she was serious.

Images taken today and last week for the booklet
Self reflective bit:
As things stand the first spread in the book after the contents page will be tittled "Survive" and will feature the items suggested for the survival kit in a form of a magazine promotion. The spreads following this one will be bare save for a synonym of the word survive and a corner flip through animation. The last page will also feature an article.
This is my attempt to play with the unease of the empty page but still contain it within the subject of the end of the world.
The toilet motif is alluding to the self reflexive role toilet space may play and in part subtle hint as to where a lot of self help books end up.
