I used an image taken by Gabriel Coppolla and turned it into my new Twitter header image.

Ben Fosket - Dinosaur
I was one of the winners in a competition to design a debut classical album cover as a part of the series 'Debut Discs' by NMC in 2012.
I received a couple of complimentary copies in the post today and feel very proud!

Re-designing my business cards
Since printing it, I decided my previous business card is not very conducive in the task of helping me get noticed positively.
So I am trying my hand in designing new cards and perhaps printing them myself.

So far I have designed the file to print but I still need to find an appropriate stock to print on.

NMC more work in progress
So I ditched the hand (deemed ugly after Friday's tutorial) for this image and stayed with the urban motif.
I don't know what the specifications are for fonts and logo placement but i'm trying to figure out a possible layout that works in small scale as well.

CSM summer project
I recently received an email from Central Saint Martin's - welcoming me to the BA course and giving me more information than I'll probably ever need.
The email requested that I prepare a self portrait on a postcard-sized format. I am supposed to bring it on the first day.
I decided to incorporate what I learned about being a 'creative' person (i.e. we're all a bunch of stirrers) and add something about myself. I think my obsession and fear/worry/stress over the end of the world is one key element in my life. Finally to make things directly relate to me there's my actual portrait.
So from my mouth sticks out a wooden stirrer and on it perches my dinosaur. This may not be very clear but here's the task:
'Draw a self portrait on a postcard (148mm x 105mm), using any media and bring it with you on the first day.'
Please note nothing is mentioned about having to make sense or be clear or decipherable. I have a feeling this is an ambush anyway so I might as well give some meat for the critique. Also - the course is supposed to make me a better designer so I will let it handle my crap fisrt.

Mark Grossman's birthday card
Brief history:
Drawing on the image from my book 'Surviving the end of the world' which featured a dinosaur holding a welcome flag, Mark made up two birthday card for me and for my partner.
For his birthday we knew we must respond in kind. The idea to superimpose Marks' face on a dinosaur was quickly scrapped but the play of dinosaur-age was to tempting.
So I kept the 'miniature animal holding a flag' theme and reiterated the sentiment 'I am young'.
This giraffe miniature was the only other miniature animal I have around the house and thus it was elected.
